Conventional : based on or in accordance with what is generally done or believed
Someone who is conventional conforms to the standard quo. Being conventional means there is no place for individuality. There are pros and cons to being conventional. It's not all bad nor is it all good. Being conventional can get you in certain rooms and around certain people that otherwise you would not brush shoulders with. It can insure you have the ear of certain people who would otherwise not listen. Thing is people like to be able to predict others, it feels safe, you can trust it. Doing what has proven to work for others may be the way to go. Being different may or may not be better depending on the times, one's genius/purpose, and the context. Sometimes its best to be unconventional because being conventional is not an option or your uniqueness may create a different context. Being unconventional makes people fear you. People fear the unknown. They fear what they do not understand. However, you cannot allow the fear of others to keep you from being your best self. Being your best self requires you to be true to yourself, following your heart desire, and keeping the the path you were destined to tread. Sometimes we can get off path trying to follow the beaten, conventional, path. When you are at that crossroad and faced with the choice of being conventional or stay true to yourself, use wisdom, but stay true to you. God didn't put you here to do what everyone else does. You were made unique for a unique purpose. Fulfill it!
